WHO ARE WE?
The Ferrara Film Festival is more than just an international film competition, is a cultural educational and economical bridge between United States and Italy through the art and showcase of films from all over the World, cinematic collateral events and entertainment shows.
Is the first film festival in Italy "made in USA", meaning that the planning and the organization is spearheading in Los Angeles, California.
The City of Ferrara is part of UNESCO as a World Heritage site and it will serve as an incredible backdrop for this high profile cinematic event. The city is placed in the strategic northern Italian area between Florence, Bologna and Venice and, despite having already terrific structures to host large events, the city still didn’t reach its full potential in the international scene.
The Ferrara Film Festival surrounds itself by prestigious collaborators such as City of Ferrara, the USA Embassy in Italy, Resalio and Studio Calabria of Rome who turns all the films in competition accessible to deaf people.
Another important link to the city of Ferrara is the partnership with Giovanni and Vittorio Alliata of Montereale and the Vittorio Cini Archive. Together with other grandchildren Lyda Borelli - the first diva of Italian silent films, wife of Vittorio Cini of Ferrara, great entrepreneur, patron and collector, who moved to Venice - they will enrich the festival with unpublished documents and films which depict the magic and pride in the artistic and cultural roots of Ferrara in film.
